Carol Smith (Artist)
Carol Smith ART BIO
Carol qualified as a medical doctor at the
University of Cape Town in 1981.
She worked in the Public Health Sector ,
mainly in community health centres and in a children’s AIDS clinic until she
retired in 2013.
When her sons were at high school their art
teacher ran a few sessions for parents, to introduce them to art-making, and
Carol so enjoyed these that she started attending various classes in drawing,
watercolour, acrylics and oils. She has been with Judy Moolenschot since 2006.
She belongs to a group of ladies who call
themselves “Art at the Heap” and paints mainly with acrylics, sometimes with
oils, and also enjoys drawing with charcoal.
She has also discovered that playing with her
photos on her computer is great fun and produces some interesting digital
collages.
She has exhibited in group exhibitions at Nova Constantia and has work hanging in private collections.
