The Heap

The Heap - Compost extraordinaire 

The Heap is the home to Lions club Tokai and it is a Compost Heap where one can buy compost at a reasonable price.  They also grow roses. Apparently the place has a history.  It used to be a hostel for wayward boys.  The main building is now in ruins, but there are still engravings and various writings on the wall that speaks of a previous era. The hall where we work is just across from the ruins.

Last year we needed gumboots to come and go at the end of the winter.  The whole place was under water.
